Hey all.

I'm installing a Flat panel in to a recess built into a wall. I want to use a wall mount that's articulated, extends at least 18", and has post installation height adjustment so I can make it fit just right. It also needs to be 5" deep or less when collapsed.

The TV is a 49" LG with a 400x400 pattern on the back. It weighs 29lbs.

I'm looking at a Chief TS218SU.

Does anyone have a favourite?

Thanks.

Craig

Edit. I'm considering it may be useful to have the TV extend further out so when it's turned for side viewing, the recess in the wall isn't blocking the side of the screen. I'm now considering a Peerless SA752PU or a Chief TS325T which both extend more than 22" (half the width of the TV).

Chief ts525tu (or ts325tu) for the win
Overkill, maybe?
But the 525 is 1 1/2" thin when closed, post install height adjust, post install horizontal adjust
No need to worry about stud being in center of mount.
It's a beast!

I ordered three from Fred's favorite supplier today. 1x525 and 2x318

Thanks for the reply. I should mention the framing for this recess was done with a backside made of 3/4" plywood so I don't really have a concern about the stud being centred.

Those mounts are awesome. You pay for it though.

Craig.

Sanus VLF510. (See post 8, though the instructions make it look like this one is just as good as the model I mention there.)

There's a screw pushing down onto the wall bracket on each side. With this screw you can fine level the TV as well as adjust its overall height through a range of about 3/4."

It's our go-to mount now.

A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Shafer has the winner.

Chief all the way!! There's a reason why they are expensive.

Had a similar installation recently with a 65". The Sanus LF228 was perfect. Customer sent photos to several of his buddies after it was completed. We were both please with the results. I would use it again in a heartbeat.

Sanus VLPM50A-B1 might be what I originally meant in post 5. I was asking my buddy to remember the model number and I think he got it wrong.

I like that one too but in this case the mount is almost as big as the back of the TV, in height anyway. I need something a little smaller

Ernie, that ones a flat mount with tilt.

Thanks for the input everyone.

Craig
