Was reinstalling a Samsung Plasma (#PN58B860) today and cannot get rid of a annoying pop up showing the TV's features (superimposed on the left side). It shows the TOC/ Series 8, Ultraslim , Ultra Filter Bright Plus and a bunch of features. The display was up for a few years and then sitting for a few months while a remodel was going on. This issue didn't happen before today.
I connected to the network and it did do an update but nothing changed. I swear I looked in every part of that menu and couldn't figure out how to get rid of it. Though I got excited when I saw something about a demo feature of the "apps" area. But nothing!!
Another weird thing, when I tuned off the glowing blue light on the bottom it goes out BUT when turned on the next time it comes back on?
I have no clue as to how to get this damn menu off the display!! Any ideas to try would be appreciated.......Thanks!!!

Sounds like store demo mode. I think you're supposed to press volume and then hold the MENU button for 15 seconds to turn it on/off.

And one of the things is it resets the set to factory defaults every 20 minutes.

Suddenly I LOVE the TVs that ask me if I want to use store mode or home mode every time I plug them in again. And I thought THAT was annoying!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

On page 20 of the user manual. I've found this reference to a store demo...

Plug & Play Feature
The first time you turn on your new TV, choose your basic settings for language, input source and channels, and time of day using the plug & play feature. The TV will store these settings in memory. Storing the channels in memory will allow you to scan the stored channels rather than have to enter their digits each time you want to change channels.

N The Screen Saver is activated if there is no remote control key input for longer than 1 minute while Plug & Play is running. N The Screen Saver is activated if there is no operating signal for longer than 15 minutes.
1. Press the POWER button on the remote control.
Select Language of the OSD menu is automatically displayed. Select the appropriate language by pressing the ▲ or ▼ button. Press the ENTERE button to confirm your choice.
2. Press the ◄ or ► button to select Store Demo or Home Use, then press the ENTERE button.
N We recommend setting the TV to Home Use mode for the best picture in your home environment.
N Store Demo mode is only intended for use in retail environments.
N If the unit is accidentally set to Store Demo mode and you want to return to Home
Use (Standard): Press the Volume button on the TV. When the volume OSD is displayed, press and hold the MENU button on the TV for 5 seconds.
3. Press the ▲ or ▼ button to select the Antenna source to memorize. Press the ENTERE button to select Start.

Hopefully that helps.
