Cleerline makes amazing fiber

Its available from a ton of dist and the company them selves are awesome.

Our highest selling fiber cable is multimode OM3 with most people buying the dual version (ie 2 strands )

the equipment and distance will determine what to pull. a few generalizations.

singlemode for great distances.

multimode much more prevelant for things we do.

OM1,2,3 is all from the same batch, it is the beginning middle and end of an "extrusion" due to properties I do not know enough about, this gives the fiber different optical characteristics. I use OM2 for all DM and data we have done. no great distances involved on anything. we use Cleerline.
I love supporting product that supports me!

OM is the designation for Multi-mode fiber
OM1 (62.5/125) is a legacy fiber now. Should not be used.
All the others are (50/125).
OM3 & OM4 are laser optimized.
OM3 costs about the same as the old OM1.
OM4 although the most expensive, can get you 10Gbit out to 400m and 100Gbit out to 150m.

Single mode fiber is for really long distances (miles).

This is all the info I have from my notes. No real world info to give you, as I haven't worked with fiber other than some pre-wires a long time ago (that were never terminated).
