So the driver will not work with the x500 players? Is this what I am hearing? :( Weak sauce. I expect an update within 2 weeks to fix this. :)
I got on with C4 tech support yesterday and brought a bug to their attention. They confirmed it and were in the process of fixing it. I am sure it will not be until the next android app update.

sony S1500 player DOES NOT WORK. I did some extensive digging last night and it seems the firmware is different in it.
Faster48 told me to try the 6200, worked like a charm!

Why didn't you just throw an IR flasher on the BDP and call it a day?

Did you happen to note if the network setup uses sub net mask or network prefix length?

Why didn't you just throw an IR flasher on the BDP and call it a day? In this system I have one single emitter and that's for the cable box. Once you have done IP control you never want to go back. This is also a remote blu-ray player in a cabinet, Although I planned for an IR emitter as a fallback Entire IP control was the goal!

I thought I would put this here.
We got our S5500 shipment in today so I broke one open and threw it in our C4 system. IP control is working properly....just as on the S5200. It was on firmware M25.R.0151 and it is now on M25.R.0205 and still working fine.
I know the documentation mentions that certain entry level models did not work a all, or would not turn on. I wonder if the S1500 falls into that category. Not sure why Sony would make them different....must save a few pennies per unit or something.
We only sell the 5200 (now the 5500) so we are good.
The new UI on is kind of dumb. Screw your "featured apps" Sony. And why can I not hide or delete unused or unwanted apps. Actually, give me an option to completely turn off or hide anything related to anything besides playing a disc in the machine. Give me a "dumb" mode to remove all the "smart" crap. We have Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire boxes that do this stuff better. Preaching to the choir, I know.

One feature they added on the x500 players is a "Favorite" button. This button on the IR remote is configurable to call up a particular app. I am trying to get completely away from using bluray players for apps, but this is a neat feature if you have to use it. BUT, this command does not exist in the IP driver. :(

I try to use anything but IR whenever possible. But sometimes it makes more sense to save time and slap an emitter on and get a check.

Did you change the setting under "network" for "Remote turn on" or something like that? You have to turn it on or it will not respond to WOL. Hopefully it is that easy, but yes I confirmed power on in the system I tested it on.
