Take forever leaving a rambling message about how nothing works, but speed through your phone number so fast I have to listen to the message three times to finally write it down.

I encourage folks to say their number twice.
this.. it is SOOOO infuriating when people do this. I had one lady blow through her number so quick it took 3 people listening to her VM 5-6 times to understand WTF she said.
That lady did get a "lecture" from me

Petty as it sounds, if you leave your phone number clearly with me, I will call you back sooner than if I have to replay a message or go through the caller id log on my telephone.
"You didn't call me back, and I did leave a message!".
"That's right, I didn't call you back. But, I have a good reason. I couldn't understand anything after you said it's not working.".
I figure if someone REALLY wants to talk to me, they'll take the time to clearly leave a number, or they'll be obliged to call me multiple times, or at least until they get it right.
most of my clients call from a phone number that is completely different from their cell or home number
I CAN'T STAND when people call from one phone and say to call them back on another. With the advent of visual voicemail, its as simple as pressing the call button to call back right from voicemail. Being that I often find myself trying to return calls while in the truck, these people automatically get put off until later, usually the next business day because I cannot stop and write down their number.
