I thought it was only horse and buggies in your youth?

They hadn't domesticated horses yet.

Here's a crude way of figuring out how much taxes you pay in your state.

I told myself I was gonna move to the state with the lowest gas tax in the lower 48. Then I saw it's New Jersey. I'll stay right here.

I stopped giving a hoot long ago. The price of gas is the price of gas whether I bitch about it out not. Same with milk, electricity, copper, water, etc. Bitching never made anything cheaper for me so I stopped bitching.

Bingo. I'm not going to drive less or buy a less fuel efficient vehicle no matter what the price of gas is anyway.

I don't recommend it. LOL

And, I'm one of those that doesn't care about gas prices as far as personal expense goes. 101 octane for the turbo 6 is $7.50/gal and I run it through like shyt through a goose.

But, I would like to see it at $6+ a gallon for financial reasons.

And the joke would be on anyone that moves to OK. There is no free lunch. Coming from someone who lives next to OK, you can certainly tell a difference when you drive over the state line...the roads turn to crap immediately.

My assertion is, you can pay at the pump or you can pay at the mechanics shop when the crappy roads beat the living sh$t out of your car, not to mention what it does to your hearing and kidneys if you log a lot of miles. It's probably a wash, so you might as well be comfortable when you drive. YMMV, literally.

Or I can stay in CT and pay it at both. Only states higher are NY (slightly) and CA by about 4 cents.

Can't speak for CT or NY, but the roads in No Calif are pretty damn good, clearly better than OK, and possibly better than KS.

MOST of your yung-uns were not around during the gas crisies in the 70's (which totally sucked)...

...Detroit then built lower HP cars and gas guzzlers went away, but then when gas became available again, the general public wanted muscle cars and gas hogs again.

Now we have all of these muscle cars and a lot of gas guzzlers again. Wait until the next gas crises!

How short our memories are. WHy do we need sedans with 600+ horsepower?

Ive had a few high performance cars and a street legal street racer... so I get it... but for crying out loud... I went through the gas crisis... and fossil fuels aren't going to last forever.

Wanna ho fast? Get a Tesla S!!!

I love nothing more than the exhaust report of a hi po Lambo / ferrari / audi s / Detroit v8... but living in the city with the 5th worst traffic... is 750 Hp gonna be used? Nope. I take public transit now because our traffic Sucks!!!!!!!!!

Just received word... The savings that I'm getting from the gas pump will be going to CL&P starting next month. On average electric bills may see a $25 increase each month here in CT. From both major companies, CL&P and UI.

Well if you all made the appropriate tree trimming before the storms, the shit wouldn't of hit the fan blades so hard. In my line of work, it's called preventative maintenance.
