What really should of been focused on is how proper organization and layout can allow you to downsize your vans into more eco friendly, fuel efficient fleet.
For a company of their size they shouldn't need to have all large vans, one or two to do the major rack deliveries. Yes its expensive todo and time consuming initially but larger isnt better.
I do agree with some of his points though.

Being able to stand up inside the thing even if you only spend 15 minutes a day in there will be a welcome service to your back, neck, legs, knees, etc. I say that because I am 6'4". YMMV. :)

As soon as I saw the two large ladders taking up all the side wall space on the right, it made me laugh.

It doesn't look like there are enough spaces for all the crap I carry. I wish I could see more details about actual layout, the labeling scheme, etc.

As soon as I saw the two large ladders taking up all the side wall space on the right, it made me laugh. And the third ladder could have been on that side, too. I'm still wondering about the space ahead and behind the cabinets on the left side- as soon as a decision is made for the placement WRT sidtance to bulkhead/rear door, something comes along to make that dimension unusable.

He just used a standard spec van. I doubt the need was there to make it super custom. I would take it in a heart beat. More power to him for balling out on a work van.
My team wishes I would do that.

How about an article on the same subject for those of us who do this kind of work in big city downtowns? We're presently finishing up a restaurant where vehicle height is limited to seven feet. I've seen lower.

I've seen lower. Parking structures in downtown LA suck donkey danglers. I have had to park on the street and walk long distances many times.
