Looking for a speaker in a retrofit that has an integrated vapor barrier/back box. I think MTX used to make one but do not anymore.

Or - is there a legit way to craft a vapor barrier in a retro?

Monitor Audio CP (Controlled Performance) series has integrated backbox. Not sure if it's what you're looking for.

Most Sonance in-wall and in-ceiling speakers offer an accessory plastic back box.

These speakers have integrated or add-on back boxes, they are not a vapor barrier per se. When you cut in a hole for a speaker, there is a break in the vapor barrier that needs to be addressed.

We wind up just getting in the attic to tape a vapor boot over the speaker. It sucks, but then we won't be responsible if something happens.

What about Dynabox? You can glue it to create a seal with the vapour barrier.

I figure that makes the most sense, but least amount of fun.

Thanks to all for the feedback.
