I am on a job with what I thought were standard volume controls. but when I opened them up there is only one 16/2 home run back to equipment location. It was a bose system. I am installing a Connect:amp and 2 channel amplifier with a speaker selector. Is there any way to use these volume controls?
The volume control is a Clarostat 1K OHM. Is there any way to wire this in with the speaker wire?
nope. that was a resistance level back to an input on the Bose house amps. the amp would read resistance of VC and in turn raise lower volume of amp. been bit by them before.

Bite too. We ended up putting in Connect Amps on each zone.
Thank you for the feedback. We ended up leaving the volume controls out of the equation and I will be installing a speaker selector with volume controls for him. From now on I will be pulling at least one volume control on first meeting.
