As an authorized Samsung dealer, I ordered a UN-60H6350AF for my client and installed it on the wall. Once it was up, and we were demonstrating it to the client, we pulled the protective plastic off of the bezel, and noticed a crack in the bezel. Both the distributor and Samsung refuse to cover it, even though there was no damage to the box, so I attempted to buy a new bezel. After many hours on the phone, getting switched from one department to another, they tell me that I have to buy a whole new display just to get a new bezel. It's clearly a separate piece, and comes apart easily. I've bought replacement bezels before, and it was no big deal. But now, with this $1400.00 TV, they have decided that offering the bezel as a separate part is too much trouble. The new display costs as much as the TV. Now, I have to replace the TV at my expense, after only making $150.00 margin in the first place.
It's much the same as if I'd bought a new car that had a cracked tail-light, and they told me I had to buy a whole new body for the car, which costs more than the car. to replace the tail-light. That's just plain crazy! No wonder our landfills are overloaded with crap. I sell a lot of Samsung, but I'm not feeling so good about it with this new knowledge of their mentality. No wonder Samsung is losing millions of dollars! I guess they're not happy until they see us lose money too. They must have hired some of idiots that Sony laid off.
Which begs the question, is it really worthwhile even selling TVs at all?

Which begs the question, is it really worthwhile even selling TVs at all? That's the reason I rarely source TVs for people- if I can't make anything on them, I'm not going to deal with this kind of BS. I usually make a recommendation and if BB has it, I'll pick it up if they won't deliver it free, but I WILL charge for this service. If they happen to be going there and have a vehicle that can transport it, some are fine with picking it up, but I always offer. I would have a sit-down with whomever manages the distributorship and explain that other options exist for you and your business WRT what you buy/sell, and from whom. They need to understand that they aren't unique, nor invaluable.

Take it to a samsung corporate office and smash it to pieces on their front steps, then put it on youtube. Bet that gets their attention.

I've recently dealt with their crappy service with my own tv. It's caused me to look at other brands. I'm fairly certain Sony tv's are designed by blind monkeys. I'm gonna look at LG again. My service guy says they are much easier to deal with from a service aspect. I don't sell a lot of tvs, usually only part of a larger system. I'd like the least amount of headaches as possible.

the question you should be asking yourself is why you are still a samdung dealer and why your still offering TVs to your clients.
LG is the only thing im recommending to my clients, and i agree ill only provide them if its part of a large system and the client pays me accordingly to deal with the panels.

Speaking of Samsung stupidity...i just installed 13 samsungs in various sizes. These idiots put protective plastic on the bottom piece of chrome trim then they assembled it. So what does that mean? It means you need a razor knife to remove the plastic or you have to take the TV apart to get it off.

Make zero money on them but typically get my best buy points lol. Adds up.

I think I just sold and installed my last TV this week. 64" Plasma, shipped free truck freight from disty. The panel arrived in good condition but had a stuck pixel that flashed white on dark fields!?! The input board had issues with certain test patterns as well, so I had to fill out RMA and freight paper work to send it back--at my expense--and wait for another truck delivery on a different day.
Money loser--I think I'm done selling anything but "extreme" size panels with margin.

I sell a lot of TVs, and most of the time I make some money, as paltry as it may be. The majority of my clients want a Samsung. I have experienced some reliability issues with LG, and especially Sony. Vizio is for Costco and Walmart, but not for me. If I push something on the client that's different than what they ask for (i.e. LG vs. Samsung), people seem to have the "I shouldn't have listened to you" attitude, and they expect even more out of me in covering the problem.
I like the idea of taking a sledge-hammer to it, and putting the video on YouTube in hopes of it going viral. That would be some sweet revenge that would hopefully make them rethink their stupidity.

For one, it's a $1400 60" TV, what did you expect? Go buy a $700 AVR and try to get a replacement bezel for it, jeez. Your model is so very wrong. If a customer of mine wants the new 84" UHD Planar, no problem I'll get it for him. Anything else he buys (it's always he), I then charge him for pickup and delivery, and if there's a problem, I'll charge him to return it. He pays BB directly for the TV. At the margins you're making, you better be selling 3+ TV's a day, every day. I typically make as much for pickup and delivery that you did on selling the TV. If the bezel is broken, I don't have to waste hours of billable time on the phone trying to fix it and THEN have to eat the cost of the TV!
