Was told by a client today that they were being taken care of by a "special install team". That caters to high end clients! This is what Comcast told them. It to Larry, Moe, and Curly 6 hours to get 7 locations hot. 5 of them were at the rack! The other two, the wire was already there. They could not grasp the concept of hdmi balens, and how it would work with no coax at the TV's.

why have a nice system if you cant operate it, program the remote the right way the FIRST time! |

Never heard of the special team but if you have a business account you have a much better chance of getting issues resolved.

Never heard of the special team but if you have a business account you have a much better chance of getting issues resolved. We did that with Cox cable when I was in Kansas. It actually worked pretty well.We even received a commission for the products installed! They made sure the service was set up and functioning and I took it from there. I even had a direct phone number and an installer number to rectify problems when they popped up.It bypassed the 1st tier and took me straight to the top! The best part was the clients were taken care of without the service provider sending out an "installer" claiming that "this will never work!"

They do have special teams. We just finished an 8 zone X1 system + 6 additional video location project with them. Unique fact, X1 maxes out at 1 DVR + 7 clients (though when setting up with them they told us 8 clients); and can not be used on the same infrastructure as the standard HD/AV cable boxes...additional Zones can only use the Digital Converter box (standard or HDMI version - which does not get an onscreen guide).
The scheduling for these teams do not run through their normal scheduling channels, and special requests with additional levels of confirmation are required.
They are more knowledgeable than the average Joe.
We still managed the project and prepped and cleaned up afterwards, but it was great not having to bill the client almost 10 extra hours of labor...and to know that they tested the infrastructure to meet their needs (and we don't have to own it...house was built/wired about 20 years ago).

TiVo Roamio Plus or Pro + 9 Minis. You can also add additional Roamio's and thus more Minis to the network. Uses MOCA or ethernet connections.

Its called their Platinum team. About 10 years ago I worked for a company where we built an ISP with a fiber back bone and cable plant to operate on a small scale in the city. It was bought by Comcast, one of the provisions of the sale was that we were all offered positions. I was offered the job of running one of the Platinum team locations. It took me about two days to decide against it and get a job with an integrator.
Here I am now. Yeah!
If I had done it and stuck it out there for the last 10 years, I'd probably be one of those Corporate A-holes I bitch about today.
