Client has a beach condo, only cable is available. He wants cable boxes mounted behind wall-hanging displays. I know of several solutions for DirecTV's small-ish hardware, but not for TWC's.

Any ideas?

Put in-wall enclosures behind the tvs for the boxes to live in.

What is the size of the box? What size are the TVs? What style of mount are they using?

I used an OnQ structured wiring enclosure once. Check out the large selection of those.

Be ready for TWC to change the box size. In the course of four months, putting together a bar right at the beach, we had two sizes of box and they changed two after we had the mounting worked out.

We used tie wraps around the boxes and hung them sideways behind the TVs. Ugly but for a beach bar, okay.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Yours are all good questions/suggestions. I explained my experience with TWC and the "randomness" of their hardware allotments. Rarely do I receive the specific boxes I request from TWC.

These are great for mounting reasonable size boxes on backs of TVs...

I use industrial strength velcro on the back of the display for tilt mounts or on the wall for smaller displays outside (lanai) articulating mount installations. That stuff is handy.

Switch client to Tivo. Use the Minis with the ]wall-mount/IR repeater kits. No service fee on the minis now. Save them the rental fee on the bedrooms.

The TIVO approach looks interesting [perfect actually], but I'm really WARY of CableCard implementations after my experience a few years back with ATI CableCard tuners on HTPC's...There were also no two-way capable CC's as our local TWC feeds implemented SDV.

Are these reliable and fully functional at this point in history?

Super reliable IF your cable company is using cable cards with the latest firmware 1.5.3. 1101 or higher (Comcast and Charter).
