+1 on Brother. I have a 440CN Multifunction network printer/scanner/fax that's been kickin' since 2007 with no problems. The ink cartridges are reasonably priced and, unlike gravity feed bubble jets, they are pressurized and do not dry out if the printer is used infrequently [unlike my prior HP].

Hmm that's very weird. The model that I bought 2 of failed because of them drying out. Though they were a 2009/2010 model.

I have a Epson Ink and BRother laser. My office had used Xerox previously, but they were becoming expensive and tempromental. Mostly good luck with the EPson and Brother laser. Make sure you get the Brother with a display.
The epson will not turn back on if there is a power failure.
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.
