I have a client that wanted curved TV's until I talked him out of it. I'd rather he do 4K over curved as a feature.

Am I wrong?

Depends on what would make the client happy doesn't it?

If he wants a curved screen why not sell him one?

After you have pointed out the actual, not perceived, pros and cons, of course.

What are the pros and cons by the way?

it is another gimmick like 3D....they are just looking for some new hook feature.

Just build em solid......and give us a little margin while you are at it......not even making enough profit on a 65" Samsung to cover the cost of going to pick it up and deliver it is insane.

I have only my perception of the concept. Curved projection systems for those of ultra wide (2.35:1) are used to provide a even light distribution on the screen. Meaning the edges are farther away from the light source than the center of the screen.

TV not the case. Their room has furniture on the side walls with limited seating in on center.

Anyone have any pros for curved TV? 65" viewing distance is roughly 14'.

I ended up with a customer that has a curved 65" OLED Samsung. It looks damn good. Although, I think it's more because of the OLED than the shape. At about 10' the curve adds a bit of depth and dimension to the picture. At 15' I can't say that I saw that it added anything.

I think every computer monitor would benefit from the curve. TV no.

I want real world feed back but I will have to settle for your bums.

I have installed a few of these, 2 of them were a client that has an ultra modern home and bought it purely for the "Look"

Image sucks on them, like i hate it. I also cannot stand the glossy look of the panel when they are off, make its look like your in a fun house with the reflections.

You did right by steering your clients to a better path. Im not even sure they are still in best buy anymore

Best Buy here is covered wall to wall at one store. I see no use for them.

But it's not going in your home is it?

So what you like or dislike is not really relevant.

The customer is footing the bill, they should get what they want.

Sure you should share your concerns but after that listen to the customer.

Would look badass flush mounted in a wall built with the same curve radius. Off axis viewing is pretty worthless IMHO. I wonder how many Leon curved soundbars have been built. :)
