For IR or IP control, which Directv DVR is the fastest in response to channel changes and guide data? I have a client with Comcast and a Directv system in another home (HR21). Control on the comcast DVR is noticeably faster. The Directv DVR he has now is really slow in response. For the most part, we hardly ever deal with Directv, so I would like to hear from some experienced CIs.

HR44, Its the Genie Server... but lighting fast control esp. over IP. Not sure what control system you are using, but when using RTI + there IP Driver the channel changing is near instant. All the other Directv receivers are slow as crap.. even IR

IR on the server is good as well. Just make sure the receiver is set for IR control.

The hr44 accepts both IR & RF at the same time.

HR44 is the absolute best box they have ever made!!! It's a shame that you can only have one in the system...
