I got off the phone with Crestron and Nuvo and discovered the certified Crestron driver for the Nuvo P3100 player does not include a discrete source input selection. The Nuvo is driving the audio for TV through the local line input of the Nuvo and I want to select that source whenever the client turns on the TV.

Crestron tech support said it can be done through Simpl programming but requires a bit of coding that I am not able to undertake on my own. I really consider this to be an oversight on Nuvo's part in creating this driver and expected this to be an available feature when I spec'ed out the system. Before I hire a CSP to do this for me does anyone have an existing program they would be willing to share?

Thx in advance
Robert

We've used this setup and couldn't find a way to do what you're looking to do... YMMV

Well, first: Does the Nuvo HAVE direct input commands?

If it does then you should be able to edit the module and add in this command in SIMPL+.

If NOT, (keep in mind I have NO exp with Nuvo) can you send a few commands to the Nuvo, like Main_Menu then Line_X select?

We couldn't find any commands for direct inputs or even a way to trigger a specific "station" at all.

The Nuvo info comes out all in lists. You could technically just blindly send Menu, Line 1 Select, Line 3 Select, etc, but you would have no idea what you were sending, and IIRC the lists would be different if the Nuvo App was used to add services to the system - things could be in a different order. Same with Pandora stations, you would never know if someone added a station to the account and they were now in a different position on the screen. I was thinking about maybe having it test against what the actual text was (basically "if this line says Pandora, then click it") but it was WAY too clunky and we just abandoned it.... and put an Autonomics MMS-2A in the next job....

Also we've put in 2 P3100's so far and have had 3 RMAs.......

This was what Crestron support was suggesting be done. Read the serial feedback for a line in SIMPL, traversing through the menu lines until the correct one is found, select that and so on until I get to the corrrect input. I was trying to find out if anyone else has done it and can share.

On another note I can say I have installed dozens of the nuvo players and clients love them. This is just the first I am integrating with Crestron.
