The type of music i listen to is rock, classic rock, alternative, punk some hip hop and a little bit of "top 40" my source for music is my computer, but i have a really nice soundcard with digital out (also can do stereo) [Link: asus.com]

I have the same sound card and it does the shiz out of two channel.

HD Traclks your welcome!

All my cds in FLAC.
Use Plex Home Theater for server.
Listen to my music wherever I am.

Check out the Dyn-Audios, they blew me away.
Was at T.H.E. Show in Newport beach, it was one of the most impressive rooms there with only a Peachtree and a laptop for source.

Everyone did the same thing as me. Walked in the room, listened a bit then started looking under tables and behind curtains looking for the sub.

Have no idea how much they are.

In a show with so much esoteric big ching edquipment, this system made most of them not worth considering.

Not a huge Dyn-Audio fan ib general, but these are very nice, non fatiguing, in it to win it speakers.

I heard them at a place Bruce used to work and those things will make your ears bleed with a 10 watt amp.

Way to bright and harsh to me and I like bright.
Bass did not kick hard enough for me.

Bruce said they did tame them down a bit, but for me way to much at the top and not enough at the bottom.

What are you selling as your main line? James? They have those little cubes in 4" & 6.5" I think.

The speakers will switch often as you find a job perfect for them. If you plan to keep them any Totem bookshelf or MA GX would be my choice.

I LOvE the GX series. Like really love them.

Check out the Stereophile product of the year... I thought it was a joke untile we got some in to play with...
The Andrew Jones Pioneer speakers (SPBS22L-R) $129 per pair!!! They blow away several speakers we have on display on up to the $800 mark!!! Google up some of the articles and interviews about Andrew Jones.

In all of my time in Hi Fi, these are the most amazing bang for the buck product ever!!!!!

We tweaked the digital processor and they sound pretty nice. Life-like / live. There are three of them in the theater accross the front. I think they just installed a pair for the rears.

Heard these with a Peachtree and blew me away, was actually looking around the room for the hidden sub.

I was going to mention Dynaudio, since it's one of the lines I sell. I'd like to sell more, but a lot of people around here are too cheap to buy great speakers.

The Dynaudio studio monitors are excellent, too. They work best with XLR.

I want to hear these-

Go big, or go home-

If I win a lottery, I'd buy these. Heard them at CEDIA in Indy and they sounded amazing, even in the big hall.

If it is for your computer, why not ditch the marantz and put in a pair of active speakers, Genelec comes to mind.

I have a simple pair of audio Engine speakers at my desk right now. They are cool. They are NOT anything compared to any of the active monitors mentioned in the thread (Dynaudio or Genelec).

Have fun with this. Get the Amp out and hook it up to your current speakers. Then upgrade speakers and so on and so forth.

When you get speakers in for jobs go ahead and test them out on your system to get a feel for A to B speaker comparisons.

Or get James to make a custom speaker that looks like a systainer, just don't try to grab it and head out the door for a job.

The R300's are nice speakers. The other guys have came up with some good suggestions, also, but the Kef's are great for the money...

The R300 is a pretty big speaker...I'd probably lean towards the GX100 if it were me...though honestly I'd still prefer the LS50 for a small system. I just think it is one of the best speakers of the last few years.
