Installed quite a few of those. The Home Manager. They were a huge pain getting the Hvac dampers to work right. I have changed most of them out with regular alarm systems. Have a few still limping along. Difficult to update the Hvac because of the 2 conductor temp sensor wiring, but it's doable.

But "back in the day" it was pretty sweet.

Yep!! I worked for a company that did a bunch of those back in the day.. Unity.. They could do things with zoned HVAC systems that still can't be done today with most systems out there. There is a guy out there that specializes in nothing but replacement parts for these. We replaced a bunch of them with AMX, HAI security and Honeywell HVAC zone controllers running with Aprilaire TStats.

What kind of price was on it?

I did about 6 of these. Made by Unity Systems... pretty hip at the time!

It depended on the number of gizmos and systems it was operating...

The last one we did was in a7500 sq. foot home --- heating security lighting, gates etc. I think installed, it ended up around $50 K.

Well, $50k in 1986 dollars is $104k in 2014 dollars, so it's about on parkers with what a full fledged Crestron system costs today...

Looks a hell of a lot like the old Squirrel Point of sale systems I used to work on in the 90's
