Where did I say take money for deposits to spend on what he wants, be it hookers, licorice or cars. Show me ONE employee that has looked at the books and determined that the employer has taken funds from the business meant for payroll, deposit money or other money, and not from his rightful draw? You can't and you won't. All these employees complain about the boss spending money thinking they deserve the money themselves.

I've heard the same crap from my brother about his previous bosses. The same boss he bitched about buying an R8, was paying him to spread chemicals on lawns and other greenery. What was my brother doing instead? He took the truck home every day and sat on his ass. So which one was stealing from the company? The one who bought himself a nice car with the money he earned from his successful business or the employee who was getting a paycheck to do work he was not doing?

Fact is there are bad eggs on both sides, however I see far more employees taking advantage than employers. Why? Because employees have nothing to lost. They lose their job they just get another one. MOST employers are VERY careful about how they do things because the law is rarely on their side if and when something goes down. If I find out my employee is stealing off the truck and sitting at home rather then going and doing his job, I have to create a papertrail of proof just to be able to let him go, and I STILL may have to pay for into his unemployment.

You read my post wrong or i wrote it wrong...i am in 100% agreement with you. I stated that the boss can do whatever he wants with the company, its money, its clients etc. Even if the boss is mismanaging the money (hookers and licorice for example) its his business and employees have nothing to say about it. It's not their business.

Yikes, I guess I totally misread it.

I don't disagree that it's unfair. My argument is that these mega corporations DO provide jobs for thousands of people and contribute more than anyone can calculate in payroll taxes, property taxes, and the tens of thousands of jobs they create to support "their" thousands of employees. The only flip side is if they become a monopoly, then they have the power to squeeze out the little guy which allows them to do whatever the hell they want. That's where things get ugly.

They provide lower paying jobs to the same thousands of people who would have had higher paying jobs working for smaller grocery stores and retailers. People wont magically stop needing food and Chinese junk if all the walmarts vanished tomorrow. The same tax revenue (or more) would be generated without walmart. The only change would be that we would have more choice in terms of where we shop (bills grocery store and mikes grocery store and jan's fruit market vs walmart) and instead of a handful of people making billions you would have tens of thousands of small business owners making hundreds of thousands or millions per year. Mega corporations game the system and wreck the economy.

It would be nice to not have to supplement income by feeding the employees of companies like Walmart and McDonalds with my tax dollars.

We need to stop about 95% of foodstamps. Good suggestion Mac. Glad to see you come around to understanding government is not the answer. . Stop corp welfare while we are at it.

This is why COSTCO takes good care of their employees, and why raising the minimum wage above slave labor rates... less public assistance...

COSTCO doesn't "take care of their employees". They pay them a decent wage so that turnover is low and so that employees are loyal and motivated to do a good job. I hate the master/slave sentiment.

COSTCO needs good employees just as much as their employees need a good paying job. No one is doing anyone favors.
