First, why do we accept advertised internet speeds as the speeds you can't possibly get with their service contrasted to the speeds you can't possibly get with the service you have now?
And what the hell good is a comparison of Top Speeds? As I put it to a CRS once, them telling me I can get up to 5 Mbps is like me telling them I have up to a million dollars in my pocket. In reality I have six bucks and change, but that falls within the title "up to a million dollars," doesn't it?
Second, how does one make sense of an online only offer (which was not offered to me online, but via a slick piece of paper stuffed into my mailbox, so therefore NOT an online offer) of $79.99 per month for 2 years WITH NO ANNUAL CONTRACT ?? How does one arrange for more than one year with no annual contract? Is it because it's a TWO year contract, not a one year contract?
On top of this, IF you SIGN a two year agreement, you get a $300 VISA Prepaid card. Now... since I have to have this service that has "no annual contract" for two years to get this superlow (not) price, how would I do that without signing an agreement anyway?
So... what is the combination of signatures, agreements, and positions of the stars and planets by which I would somehow get this service for $79.99 per month and NOT get the $300 VISA card?

A family member, located in Virgina, just outside of Washington, DC has Verizon FIOS.
On several occasions, on several different visits, I have tested the speed and Versizon is generally delivering the advertised speeds (50MBs down and 25MBs up), but I did take the time to find a speed test server that was up to the task.

Here in NY, Fios is pretty straight forward. The service is much better than the cable companies out here. Bar none. You are getting an internet advertised price, since that is where most people are comparing FiOS to cable company packages. Online. The mailer is referring to the deal on the net, which seems like an old deal... The current promotion is better priced monthly and a bigger Visa card value (fios.verizon.com). Also, the price is "guaranteed for 2 years". You aren't signing a 2 year contract. As for the speed, I'm not sure if you are agreeing or disagreeing on the actual delivery of the "15mbps" speeds. I have the quantum package (75mbps) package and I often see speeds higher than that. A quick speed test pegs me around 83mbps. Just my opinion, but this blows away what the cable company down here offers. Once you get used to the channel lineup, there is no looking back.

This could be ay yi yi that's cool, Alicia is moving to Brazil and can't be responsible for the crap Lucy left here; or ay yi yi that's horrible because Alicia is moving in with me... I could think of two other possible interpretations. 8>o 8>o indeed!
