Go JL or PPI if you can . Rockford ruled years ago but it isn't as good as Jl . Don't waste your time with the w7 either . W3's in the right box with the right amp sound great. I agree! The W3's ROCK and play everything well. The W7's are a good way to lower your vehicle(extreme weight!) and that's about it. If you hit them with 1000+ watts,they move some air but aren't musical at all!

Car audio sure has changed since 1995..... :) I've changed my mind like 10 times on this design, and haven't gotten far. At the moment I'm only sure of a few things: Factory head unit > factory amp > Rockford Fosgate 3sixty.3 > JL HD750/JL HD600/4. I like the RF 3sixty because I have access to 4 EQ presets. This will be convenient for my car (Jeep) because I can set it for 1-roof on, 2-soft top on, 3-no doors/roof. I was thinking a 12W7, but I haven't pulled any triggers yet. I'll be running the power/speaker wiring this week. Many thanks, JT

This weekend me and about 9 friends in the Northeast are going to CO to take a Pistol/Carbine Instructors course from the US Krav-Maga Association for Law Enforcement. It's a week long course though.

I have installed a few w7 and they were too power hungry. I have had those powered by jl's biggest amp. I have stalled cars and had car with not enough air space for the w7 . I have blown 100 amp fuses tuning them. The loudest car system I ever installed was 6 w3 in an caddy truck. Turning the volume more than half way up you could see the truck rear panels flexing from the bass. I put 2 w7 in a jetta and was even impressed. It has a 86 db you use a sub with a with a db of 89 and you could use half the power and get the same spl.

Bump-
Just put new headlights (JW Speaker) in the Jeep. Badass.
Just put VisionX Foglights in the Jeep. Got the wrong harness :( No worky.
Plastidipped grill.
3PM-How's yours coming along?
Mines going in Wednesday for the audio install.
Then a lift, and wheels (if budget allows) :)
