I got the SxS out today and took the kids for the first ride that wasn't in freezing winter weather. Finished burning out the fuel and additives that were in the tank from the dealer and filled it up with pure gasoline. No ethanol mixed fuel from now on. Now I'm itching to load up the gear and go for a weekend of camping and riding. But I do wish I could find some fender flares for it. Honda screwed up and didn't make their fenders wide enough

Taxes tomorrow, then seeing Fishbone at the Warfield tomorrow evening. One of the best sounding venues I have seen a show. Sunday, finish all the paperwork/design/proposals I have not had time to do during the week.

Woot! Fishbone! Didn't know they were back together!

I have to catch them again. I swear, out of the hundreds/thousands of concerts I've seen, that one was my favorite. February '94, Flood Zone, Richmond, VA. Lead singer - Angelo - had the crowd whipped up into a frenzy THE WHOLE SHOW. Stage dive from the upper level. Crazy. I know there is no way they could even approach that now, but I have to go see them.

Me, weekend - kids' sports, wash car, run. Go into work tomorrow, while the wife/kids go to church - work on a paper ('proposal').

I remember the first time I worked on a Beetle. I can actually LIFT this damn engine out of the back practically by myself, without an engine hoist.

Got to call you on that one.....

The only thing you might lift when removing the engine is the car body, after you drop the engine to the ground, or in my case, down onto an old tire.

Yeah, if you don't mind putting up with incompetence. I used to be really damn good (on some machines), but I haven't played (in a serious manner) for, uhm, er///well...literally 43 years (early teens). That was hard to say.

What part of S.V? My brother lives in San Jose. 2-3 times a year I fly into Northern Humboldt, which is too far away (not what you think, I'm building a house up there). But I try to get into the bay area once a year to see my bro.

I live in Milpitas, just a stones throw from San Jose. Close to the intersection of I-680 and CA-237/E. Calaveras Blvd.

You're welcome to come and play as poorly as you wish, as long as you enjoy yourself, we'll have a good time.

In Kona this week, will hopefully see BigPapa tonight or tomorrow...

You flaked on me for imu pig. Well played.

I'd flake on me for much less.

Let's have a Hawaiian style Mad Men consulting meeting at my 'Office' late in the day Monday.

Finally done with the majority of the "honey do" list, so I'm going to get my pinball machines set up again.

Sweet! I have a few pinballs as well. They're a nice, physical contrast to the virtualness of computer games...

I am in Bethany Beach this weekend getting the beach house ready to rent out for this summer. Weather is great so I am trying to finish my chores before going on a long bike ride down Coastal Highway.
If you are going to do the job...why not do it the right way?

That's why I used the word "practically".

Obviously the engine compartment hood opening is a little small to easily remove the engine. And since the tranny/gear box is also attached it makes it heavier. But I absolutely could lift a Beetle engine (without the tranny) if it were sitting on the pavement. They're simply not that heavy.

Sending you a box of Wheaties. You clearly are going to need them ;)
