Finally done with the majority of the "honey do" list, so I'm going to get my pinball machines set up again. Both Williams machines: "Black Knight" limited edition: [Link: ipdb.org] "The Getaway, High Speed II": [Link: ipdb.org] I'm looking forward to playing them again. It's been about a year!

bcf,
Me like. I used to be an avid player back in the early 70s. Williams (and Gotleib) envy.

Just got back from the beach. Will mow the grass tomorrow, file the taxes, pick up a CO2 tank for my welder, work on the new project car, and then head back to the beach on Monday for a two week stay. The new project: ][IMG] [/IMG] A 67, and it just needs to be saved. Summer of love Beetle...awesome. Fortunately, most parts are plentiful and those damn things are stupidly simple to work on.

Cool project!
I had two Beetles in my time. Loved both of them! Crappy heaters of course, but overall fun cars and unreal reliablity.

Watching the Masters all weekend. One of my absolute favorite things and going to see the tournament is the only personal bucket list item I have left.

I used to be really damn good (on some machines), but I haven't played (in a serious manner) for, uhm, er///well...literally 43 years (early teens). That was hard to say. What part of S.V? My brother lives in San Jose. 2-3 times a year I fly into Northern Humboldt, which is too far away (not what you think, I'm building a house up there). But I try to get into the bay area once a year to see my bro.

Did you mean to tee up that softball and wait for someone to swing at it? When I was in high school (before you were born) I used to hang out with a bunch of guys...we liked to drink beer (and other recreational indulgences) and turn wrenches all weekend...working on our cars, motorcycles, rebuilding shit, just hanging out in the garage, doing what guys do. I remember the first time I worked on a Beetle. I was like, "damn these things are easy to work on, compared to my 63 Chevy". I can actually lift this damn engine out of the back practically by myself, without an engine hoist. Everything about the damn car is easy. Me and one of those buddies were out trolling parties - with his sister's beetle (because our cars were both up on racks for the weekend) one Friday night, drunk off our asses, when the gas pedal linkage broke at 2am. We fixed that thing with a flash light, pliers and some baling wire (and probably would have blown a .20 had the PoPo trolled by while we were working on the car) That changed my whole attitude towards Beetles after that...new found respect.

That changed my whole attitude towards Beetles after that...new found respect. If you have worked on them much, you can literally yank out the engine in under an hour. Some cars today, you have to virtually half way remove the engines to get at the back sparkplugs. Why the hell can't car engineers tke this stuff into account when they design the damn things?

Had to wire up the new diff lockers we just had put in. If you feel like having some great fun with your jeep next weekend head to easter jeep safari in moab. We're heading there thursday night. Will be running lavendar canyon friday and either kane creek or hells revenge on saturday.
