I installed an Audio Solution 2.1 system with a 55" Vizio yesterday. The customer did not have cable installed yet, so I tested with a DVD. It worked fine.

Today the customer hooked up their basic Crapcastic adapter box directly to the TV's tuner. They don't get any sound from the mount when on cable, but they do get sound if they turn the TV speakers back on. I have the analog audio out from the TV going into the audio mount. DVD still works fine.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

How are the speakers hooked up? Analog out of the TV?

Strange, shouldn't be any issues if it is analog audio, maybe the TV has separate audio settings for different inputs?

Is the adapter box hooked up via HDMI or coax?

Just coax. I have never ran into it before. Hopefully Brent will chime in with a solution.

Brent is here.
Stupid questions (but I gotta ask).
Which Vizio display are you using?
Are they sure that the analog cables are connected to the Audio Out (not In)?
Is the Audio out set to Fixed not Variable?
If set to Variable is the Volume set at 75% minimum?
Is there a reason that you are using analog instead of the digital Coax?
You indicated that you have tested the 2.1 with the DVD, was that with Analog or Digital?

Customer supplied TV, I would never touch a Vizio myself. It is a new 55", knowing this guy I am sure it is the cheapest model out there. I
can find out the model tomorrow. TV is set to variable out, TV speakers off.

Yes the DVD player was hooked up analog audio out also. All his equipment is analog only.

Will the tv send out analog audio from the RF input? IOW, can it extract the audio from the RF signal in?

That's pretty much what I told him.
