The rack I just posted is very busy and has all the things you mention and more.  From memory:
  • 24 port Ethernet switch & patch
  • Router with additional 8 port Ethernet
  • 8ch surveillance DVR and camera power supply
  • 9 zone Sonos
  • Cable Box and two DTV Genie Clients
  • Remote control processor
  • 2 x AVR
  • 2 x HDBT Extenders
  • APC UPS, APC H15 & APC G5 power conditioners
  • Sub amp
  • 2 x 12ch amps
  • 2 x Niles speaker switches
I'll get some close up photos of the back the next time I'm there.

I will have 8 zones Sonos, 4 cameras, 42 cats + coax 7 cable boxes 7 HDMI extenders, modem, router, etc.

The pic shows the trunklines to the rack. Is the remainder just stored at the top?

I'll have a 42 space rolling rack to start. Your pics will be a great help, thanks.

Is the application something that would lend itself to HDMI matrix?  If it's a residence with 3-4 occupants, maybe you could reduce the number of cable boxes to 3-4 which could also save significantly on the cable bill and help offset the cost of the matrix switch.

An HDBT matrix could eliminate all the HDMI transmitters and associated power supplies and also opens up the opportunity for additional sources for the TV (Apple TV, Bly-ray, etc.).

In the rack pictured there are small service loops at the top for Ethernet and in the sides of the rack for audio & video.
