Sonos Connect --> RCA Y-splitters --> inputs on two separate receivers. I can't think of any reason why this wouldn't work just fine, but wanted to cover my butt because I haven't done it before.

Any gotchas?

Are the two receivers feeding the same area? If not, don't forget that the Connect also has a digital coax output. And delays caused by using both wouldn't matter if they are feeding completely different areas of the home.

I did that on one take over job where we were just cleaning up the system. He had a Denon receiver that we fed via digital coax, and a russound system that we fed analog. Worked great.

Ah I DID forget about that. This particular system is a bit of a patch job, and it will only have the single Connect feeding the two receivers (one of which is connected to a speaker selector), and a Playbar.

I would imagine not, but is there a delay between the analog and digital outputs of a single Connect? Or just whatever delay is introduced by the receiver's processing?

use a splitter with buffered outputs.. I've seen weird audio issues back in the day when you connect two Sony receivers to the same source via regular y cables.

There is a Optical and a Coax digital output. In my home I have the analog going to my DA, the Optical going to one Surround Room and the Coax going to another. Zero issues.
Don't read my answer. Someone else will go into great detail as to why I am wrong rather than answer the original question...

In general no issues, but Ive had Yamaha receivers definitely introduce a delay using optical. Went with rca y adapters on both occasions and no issues

If it does sound odd in any way and you decide that you want to cure the problem cheaply, buy a CE Labs (or the Skywalker, SnapAV, LeGrand, etc) AV distribution amp. It doesn't matter that kind of video it takes, so get the cheapest one they have. They usually have at least three outputs. I think I paid about $25 for the last one.

We do it all the time as well! Media room receiver and house audio connected to 1 Connect using Y's. Not my favorite design but everyone has a budget....

When was "back in the day"? To Ali Hashemi, that could be 2004! If "back in the day" means the 1980s, Y connections were problematic because an amp that was turned off distorted the signal going to the other ampon a y cable. Not so any more.

So try it. The amp that's off has to be off for at least a minute to know for sure if it will cause a problem to the other amp.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
