no problem! I'm reminded of way back to my days working the warehouse at a circuit city when a guy bought a rear projection big screen and insisted on tying it to the roof of his car instead of waiting for delivery. It stayed on. For a little while. I think he made it to the 485 belt line before it aerodynamics trumped stupid.

I have even repaired a commercial installation where Bestbuy has installed URC Total Control.

Bet his mom likes it in the back Ha Ha, that was my first thought but I decided to keep his mom out of it, she's been so busy visiting Dave in Baltimore, I'm sure she's not worried about where the TV is put. :)

3PM- I would love to hear from you to get more details. Pro Control software is only available to registered dealers. Magnolia does not "have copies" to give away. Please drop me a note: [email protected]

Mike,
Call a few of the stores in different states, as if you're a potential customer and see how they respond. Try being a bit persistent "how do I program this, if I can't get software?", etc.
Look, any products that go into any major retail chain and are put on the shelves for sale to the public without requiring installation - you're just asking for problems. Sure, it looks great on paper to have BB purchasing from you, but who's going to deal with all of the end user support calls? That is if BB can even sell the product properly. There are lines in that store that simply should not be. PC is one of them, if they are not allowed to distribute software and have no "professional install required" agreement.
Having worked at URC, I understand the pros and cons, and witnessed the fallout from taking a "custom product" and trying to put it into big box retail. Especially when those products are being sold by people who probably have no interest in making CI a career.
What's next? Amazon?
If you want a mass market product to sell at retail, I'd be happy to talk with you about developing something that's much more viable for that market. You are welcome to e-mail me: damondg at premieravdesigns dot com

mike, thanks for chiming in. Please keep us posted as some may view your company's stand as a deciding factor on a product line

Lowhz: PC is not selling directly to Amazon, that's a third-party seller.

Why does Amazon have it listed as "by PROCONTROL - AVAD "? Does AVAD own a piece of PROCONTROL?
Yvon Brice Corp Is the seller. They have 2 of them. Probably not a Procontrol dealer based on the other items they are selling.

Damon When it comes to URC nobody seems to make that argument. End users don't care either.
