I went and picked up our new 65" samsung tonight and while i was waiting for the TV to be brought out i decided to circle the magnolia section. I saw the .r remotes on the shelfs and an associate asked if he could help...i decided to pick his brain for a few minutes about remotes,control 4 and procontrol knoticed there were no "stickers"..I said i would be interested in buying a pro-control remote but wanted to be able to program it myself...Guess what, he said no problem we have copies of the software its the only program we can give out with remotes...WTF,seriously? I guess i shouldn't be so surprised..dont do much of any Pro-Control

I think they've had the line for a few months based on another post about it here. More importantly, why were you giving your hard earned money to BBY? I figured you'd be at...oh I don't know...Target ;)

This is going to be good, pro control isn't that hard to set up, but it's enough that the average DIY guy will have issues.
What happens when their IR library is missing something and they need to learn in a code?
I'll bet this doesn't last long.

I don't care either because our business shouldn't revolve around running back out to the customers house to change the programming from a VCR to the latest BluRay. The only thing it jeopardizes is the potential future upgrade sales. But again, NONE of my "good" customers will ever try to program PC and if they do, good f-ing luck! It's not difficult but it does require experience otherwise you'll struggle.
The writing was on the wall and certainly RTI errrr ProControl will not slap the hand of their new found cash cow. Good luck getting through to tech support!

I will only be happy if whenever a customer from Magnolia calls Pro Control for tech support they always get the "Oh really, I've never heard of that issue before, that's new to me!" I think they would have to swap their tech support guys because that idiot is still working on the RTI side.
