Okay so after being told that my google+ page (that i closed over a year ago) was hijacked by Bum Fight videos and having guijaboard hijacked again i decided to change all of my passwords.

I have 258 personal logins and 37 work related logins stored in RoboForm. I am about half way through after a week giving each account a unique user name and password. In the past i had 3 variations of the same password that i used for everything. These 3 variations worked on all the sites with weird rules like only 8 characters or you cant end the password with a number etc. I have been deleting things i don't use any more. So far i have deleted 4 accounts. Without roboform i would never be able to remember this many logins. I used to keep a text file on my desktop with every user name and password. Now it doesn't matter what password i use because roboform has a master password and 1 click logging in.

Would be nice for a single online login for everything but then that will become a target that gets compromised revealing everything.

I'd just use a single password and always recommend something so obvious no one will ever think of it. Something like "admin" for the user name and "password" for the password.

I really like people like you David!

When I moved recently, I moved into an apartment for a short time. Comcrap wanted to charge me a ridiculous amount to come connect me for cable and internet, as I couldn't sign up for a full year. So, I said to heck with it, and decided I'd just see if I could find some open WiFi. Well nobody was open, everyone had turned on some form of access control. The funny thing, was that close to a half of the units I tried, had the username and password as the default values. It was a case of try the standard login info for Linksys, D-Link, Belkin, and try the login. Easy.

By the way David, those are the standard "as manufactured" login info for most of Netgear's product lineup! :)

A seniors class I heard of had solved the password problem. Whenever they would try to remember what password they had last used, they got a message from the computer telling them what it was. The message said "Your password is incorrect." So they would type in "incorrect," hit Enter, and they were in!

Yeah, yeah, of course someone had to set that up in the accounts, but after they did, this always reminded them.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
