I need to replace a pair of damage outdoor speakers and I'm considering using these, but I've never used them before.
I would like to get feedback from someone that had used them before pulling the trigger. Thanks in advance.

Our only experience with their outdoor box speakers was in a horse stable; we located them hanging down from the rafters in the hallway between the stables. One was DOA, promptly replaced. They sounded OK. The horses didn't seem to care either way.

They should all make 8" outdoor speakers.

Just remember these are 4 ohm speakers. Honestly, I think these things sound incredible at that price. They sound better than the Niles and Klipsch models we were using at almost twice the msrp.

I have one project where we put 8 of them hidden all around a back yard that sounds amazing. We get compliments on that setup all the time. It helps that they play a tone of acoustic, spanish style music, but even with pop music the system sounds nice.

They have become my go to outdoor speaker for a standard box style OS speaker.

I actually really like these things too. They are awesome for their price. The only outdoor I have installed that sounds better is Monitor Audios new Climate stuff.

Similar in sound to just about any Outdoor Speaker. Only ones I have heard that I can say sound better are Boston Acoustics, B&W, and Monitor. if you don't mind having the speakers go bad very year, then the Boston's are a good deal ;)

They sound good.  They sound much bigger than the smaller models.  So much so, that I stopped using the smaller ones altogether.

If I had a beef with them it would be the way they attach to the bracket. I've struggled getting these to stay in place. Screw'em down, walk away and they droop on the bracket, climb back up, fix, walk away, droop again.

Just make sure you crank 'em down good. Or mount them vertically if possible and you won't have the issue.

Monitor? seriously? Have you boys had your hearing checked lately? Those things sound like they are buried under a wash tub.

Are you saying you don't like the Monitor Audio?  Or are you saying that we shouldn't compare Episode to Monitor?

I really really like the Monitor Audio Outdoor speakers.  I've only used them a couple of times, but they blow away any outdoor speaker I've ever used.

I used metal posts for railings, from Home Depot, to mount a pair of older Boston Acoustics outdoor speakers. They were about $14, they're about 3' long and it's easy enough to use the holes at the top for stainless bolts, then drill for the bottom ones.

If I had to guess I would guess we've installed over 500 pairs.
Never had a problem and I agree they are big bang for the buck.

I think they recently had a revision because they now come with large rubber washers that go between the speaker and bracket, allowing the knurled teeth to bite. I just installed 2 pairs of these this week on a patio and it worked perfectly.
