All of a sudden there is a real interest in projectors. We have three projector installs on the schedule for the next two weeks. Would like to setup the projector and was wondering how you all are calibrating them. Don't want to buy anything expensive because don't know if this sudden interest is going to keep up. The projectors we sell are not top of the line, $1500-2500.
My first thought was using calibration discs by DVE or S&M and play them on a BluRay. Just wondering from you guys what you would suggest.
TIA, Dave

I use the DVE discs, as well as some settings I know to adjust from experience. They do a great job if used properly. Colors, contrast and brightness are more accurate. You're not going to get anything 100%, unless you do a true ISF calibration, using rather expensive gear. Both have their place.

Sometimes if you know the sales trainer or an inside tech person they will have recommended settings based on the type of screen that you are using as a starting point rather than the "preset" modes.
