My go to is one of these two solutions.

Crestron control
Crestron 6 input/ for zone amp
Snap 4X4 HDMI switch
Keypads or handheld in the rooms with Mobile device control

URC control
Sonos for audio zones
Snap 4X4 HDMI
Sonos App for music
URC remtoe for TV control with TV Speakers

Are any of you using something like the AD4 RTI audio controller for systems that would have a DVR 1, DVR 2, Bluray/ ATV, and Sonos?

I would like a cost effective solution for a project because this is our bread and butter right now.

When I look at a Non-Crestron solution the price is always almost Crestron priced so I revert back every time.

Have done both of those options, stay away from snap hdmi switchers. I've had to swap out several. Key digital works great
why have a nice system if you cant operate it, program the remote the right way the FIRST time!

Why not use a DM-6X4 if your using Crestron. It's bullet proof and something you won't swap out.

+1. That was going to me my recommendation. Their 6x4 and 6x6 have significantly out performed my expectations!!!!

Did I just jinx it?

Anyone have feedback on the Snap piece?

Ok so I have no issues with the Snap piece. We all know the price difference between two so no need to ask why. I am just finishing 16x16 DM job and it is awesome.

DM is still way to expensive for most jobs. I am talking sub $20k jobs that need audio and video.

What are you doing for audio controllers for budget jobs?

If a 6 X 6 can accommodate, we've had good success with Nuvo essentia amplifiers. They are pretty easy to integrate into 3rd party control. I like their reliability better than their sound but overall, C+

Also,
Based on your and others recent recommendations, we became audiocontrol dealers and are installing (architects) them behind zektor audio matrices. Damn, they sound and operate nice.
how in the hell does ernie make money?

Yeah that was going to be my new go to. Maybe I will price that combo out again. I really want to send more support to Zektor.

This was recommended on another forum by someone else, but:

Use the 6x4 DM with other people's HDBaseT receivers (Snap has one now that is pretty cheap).

Discount the 6x4 DM to the point of "profit neutrality" between it and the 4x4 piece.

You're making the same money, the price premium will be pretty small, but you'll be using an uber reliable HDMI solution (best in the industry), and helping your Crestron numbers as well.

Oh, and while 4 rooms is often enough for these types of systems, I sometimes find 4 sources to be a bit limiting. 6 is a nicer number. That should be worth some of that price premium.
