"-Does the 4WD work?
Hell yes. Like a Dickensian Orphan.
"

Even Ernie can appreciate this one.

"-Would this make a good car for my daughter?
Hell. Yes. Not only a good car, a learning experience. Introduction to vehicular maintenance.
Additionally, there isn't really enough room in the back for that little bastard she's dating to try anything.

I found this thread and read the ad while standing in the line for space mountain. It helped the 45 minutes go faster

Yes, yes, and yes!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Wow. Slow reader, eh?
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

If you don't like the color red,  you probably like the color pink, and that means this Jeep ain't for you.

If you live in Long Island.  This jeep ain't for you.

I had a friend that had a 4x4 pickup in NYC since new and at 83K miles decided to take it to the beach in Long Island.
He got stuck in sand while in 2WD and could not engage 4x4 as he's NEVER used it before.
We had to drive it all the way from NYC to Orient Beach with shovels, some wood planks and few jacks.
Once suspension was up in the air, 4x4 was wrestled into on position (manual levers) and we drove out.

If you're going to buy 4x4 anything, use it once in a while; and for god sake, engage/disengage it while wheels are straight, preferably while you have the vehicle in a slow roll.

Sorry man.
I did see a hill over in Long Island once. Had to climb it too, which made it a challenge because I had a beach chair AND a cooler, on top of a towel and other crap. I wished I had a 4x4 at that moment :-)
