I agree with what you are saying but i'm not sure why you would admit this on a public forum.

How typical of you. Resorting to personal attacks. Grow Up!

It's what men do. What kind of sissy can't take some ball busting and starts whining "grow up"?

I think there's too much upgrading for the sake of upgrading...

You could tell these folks to quit trying to reinvent the wheel. You'd probably get a blank look and "what's a wheel?"

This is the victory of the idea that "progressive" equals good, throwing out the old only because it is old. I could go on about how that has damaged our society....

I think bcf often goes over the top and damages his own case, but this is just plain juvenile*...

Ball busting is having fun among people who are willing to admit their own faults. You are indeed engaging in personal attacks, which is what people do when they do not have anything effective and on point to say. The personal attack is supposed to silence the opposition because there is no good response to it. And it's juvenile.

*And saying it is juvenile, while accurate, also implies "grow up." How many adults do you hear engaged in actual discussions of ideas who do what you call "ball busting"? That is ALWAYS off the topic.

A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Ernie, I guess you missed the part where he started his first post in this thread with "whine whine whine", clearly taking a juvenile shot at Mac.

Personally, I would think you would want to quietly sit back and let BC take all the shots sent his way, because that is less time for anyone to say anything about your incessant critiquing of any and every spelling or grammar error that someone makes, and injecting useless trivia at the absolutely most annoying times.

Welcome to the show Pot

More examples of the flat clean simple but harder to use interface phenomenon.

Plenty of space on the left for just those two items....

Oh i get it...lets add 2 clicks so that the user can see all of the options. That makes it much better...right?

No reason what so ever to hide the options but they did it anyway. Ill bet some developer was very proud of himself for that one.

EXACTLY and well said!

Programmers sometimes are just senseless. My bank voice access system had, for three years, "Enter 1 if you want to change your PIN. Enter 2 for all other services." This makes sense if they have mined their own call data and determined that about half of all calls are people wanting to change their PIN numbers and half are for everything else. Combined. Can you imagine that changing PINs was EVER anywhere near that high?

Recently the same bank did some minor upgrade of their site. It used to be that when you opened the page, your cursor was in the box where ANYBODY had to go to enter their account number to start. Now you have to mouse over it and left click. Dumb.

I really admire the few folks who set up phone number entry fields and automatically move you to the prefix field after you've entered three digits for area code, then move you to the last-four-digits field after you enter the prefix. So simple. So logical. (And I first saw this on the IRS site!)
