Uh, what has become of the music scene? I thought I'd tough it out for a while, but had to turn it off. Painful.

Weren't you just singing praise of Macklemore? That's what's popular these days; "artists" that don't play actual instruments. Rock and roll is dead in the eyes of the masses, sadly.

Macklemore has talent.

Bullcrap, throwaway manufactured "pop" bands don't.

Suits produce music that makes money. Not sure how money is made on music these days, but keep that in mind, and it makes more sense.

I could see watching if I knew someone who was going to be on that show, but otherwise, someone would have to knock me out, tape my eyes open and bind my arms & legs to a chair and immobilize my head to get me to watch that. Miley Cyrus? Please. Just another kid hanging on her dad's coattails after he became famous for a crap song.

MTV long ago lost any credibility it had to stage an awards event for music. I'm having a hard time even trying to remember the last time I cared or paid attention to the fact that they were on. It's sad too, because back in the day, it was a decent place to check out some good live performances.

Ha! That's why I suffered through it. Just wanted to see how my son's friends did... but I had to change channels before they got on.

Not only were almost all of the acts shite, but the M.C.'s at least one of them, were the dumbest idiots I have ever seen on television. It was embarrassing to put it mildly.

It was horrible. Miley, Disgusting. Justin timberlake showed everybody how it is done. He is legit and I don't even like him. Bruno Mars is legit. The song he did was terrible i thought but his band is really good. Compare that to the CMA a week or so ago and there is a huge gap in where music is today. I am tired of shows turning into political or rights movement crap. Just play music and let us judge if you are any good live or not.

Video Music Awards is something that 12 year old girls watch. How is it that you 12 year old girls are doing custom installation?

It has become a reality show flea market. Nothing of value.

My 15 year old girl was asked to leave the room last night when that crap was on. I think it is essential as a parent to know exactly what is going on in the world. I am now clearly informed with what is going on in the music industry and can help make an educated decision on what my kids will be allowed to listen to and support. after last night, none of them are worth buying or supporting.

The CMA's didn't have that crap going on. I was hoping to see foo fighters, or actual bands with music. not gonna happen

What he said.

I contend that if you've turned MTV once in the last 15-20 years, you either wear a blouse, or your T Shirt is way too tight.  Stop shopping at Gap for Kids.

At least it is abundantly clear to me now what "twerking" is :)

OMG, I was going to flip over to it around the Vikings, glad I forgot it...and most of the vikes game too!

If you want a decent music show to watch I would say the Grammys are probably the one.
