any one use them?

I saw a cool demo of their 8x8 HDMI matrix. Coming out with a 16x16 as well. Seemed well made and worked very well BUT sometimes its hard to drink the demo Kool-Aid

Thoughts? Comments? criticisms?

I have been keeping my eye out for some real world experiences and opinions on this as well. +1 this.

I've used a couple (did work for a another C4 dealer) and while they can be cool, you really need to know the limitations of CEC to make it a worth while product.
For instance CEC control will only do on/off and input on Samsung, but with Toshiba you can also have volume control as well as the power and input control.

All in all its cool if you have complete system design control and product selection and sourcing on your side. If not, I really don't see the advantage of using it.

Smart man. Zektor's products and more importantly service are second to none and well established. Tried and true Zektor's the real deal. No, I don't work for Zektor.

Had a demo unit a couple months ago to play around with. HDMI switching was trouble-free, and it's nice to have a matrix with all HDBaseT ouputs, but CEC control is just more trouble than it's worth. I'd rather have a matrix just switch video and let the control system do its job of controlling. I think the CEC features add way too much complexity to the web setup / matrix status pages.

Also worth noting that the receiver baluns get really hot -- hotter than HDBaseT receivers I've seen from other manufacturers. Hot enough to warrant an "install this way up to provide proper ventilation" photo attached to the instructions of the unit.

I noticed that as well. Both the PIA setup for the CEC (I'm sure its less pain full the more you use it) and in the VERY hot HDBaseT receivers. I also thought it was odd that they had the special installation instructions for the ventilation issues.
