Have read your instructions on using HDMI2's many times. We use it and it does seem more stable overall. Thanks for this tip.

Is this true of projectors also?

Thank you.
I would have to assume (oh no) that due to board design that yes it will make a difference.
What I do not know (I have not taken any projectors apart) is which is the right one.

I'd say party at Brents house and we'll take the projector apart. Anybody got one they want to donate?

maybe im slow this morning but are you talking about using HDMI 2 as your main input instead of HDMI 1?

If you are starting to see more stability with your systems is this due to the 2nd input not having ARC?

Right. Brent has mentioned this several times before. It's SOP for us now. I'm sure he'll give a recap. I didn't know if it was because of ARC only and that's why the question about projectors too.

Short of it.
Input 2 is the most direct signal path with no turns in the traces.
Turns can add timing errors.

You know it'd be awesome if HDMI came close to meeting the HDMI spec!

HDMI meets the spec. It's HDMI products that fall short.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

That's what I mean.

I remember going to Integra training when they were getting ready to release the 10.x DVD player.

Someone asked if it would play Dual-layer discs. The CD/SACD combo discs that existed.
Now the problem with them was the CD layer was like 2mm away from meeting the CD spec, so while most players could play them Integra wouldn't explicitly state theirs could because then they wouldn't be meeting the CD spec on their player and couldn't sell it as a "Compact Disc Player."

Could you even imagine if HDMI was the same way? You couldn't put HDMI on the device if it didn't actually MEET HDMI spec!

I can't believe we didn't learn about this highly technical drawing in my electrical engineering classes. So you're claiming that an angle in the conductor is causing HDMI timing issues? My intuition tells me that we'd have to be talking about an incredibly high frequency before problems with the conductor's physical shape are introduced. Are you sure the signal path electronics are not different on the various HDMI inputs? ARC could easily be a culprit. I realize that Brent knows far more about this topic than myself, but this diagram makes no sense to me.
