Yes camera bump - no luck flashing it!

Using a URC that is IR/RF to the TV. Remote controls TV fine - IR flasher flickers. I flashed the hell out of every inch of that camera bump and no luck! Did the camera have to be extended or did you get it to work with it recessed? What part of the camera area did you flash?

I had the same TV today for the first time. I fount the sensor after some aggravation of not knowing where to start. The emitter worked centered over the cracks between the front "corner bead" and bottom about .5 inches to the right of the red power LED. Red power LED is at bottom right corner. Worked both on the front and on the bottom. Used hot glue because surface was bumpy.

We might be talking about different models here. I don't remember that bump being the kind that retracts back inside the TV (we did not supply this TV) but no doubt, the IR receiver was at the top of the set.

Thanks!

I don't know how I missed it - kept sliding the flasher around the frame - you just saved me a mild cardiac arrest.

Check your URC Emitter. Remember there are some bad emitters out there and you will need to flip your emitter over backwards and test again. I bet it might be one of the bad emitters out there.

Right hand side of camera bump.Beware of beam of light which shine directly to center area of TV. IR gets flooded will yield poor result to IR emitter.

I can't believe we are talking about a high-end TV here. What the heck is wrong with these guys? You're not even asking them to put it in a convenient place. You just want to know where it is!

Story idea: The guide to hidden IRs - sort of like Seatguru for TVs.

I like the title of this thread for the story title "Where the hell is the IR receiver on this TV?".

The new Samsung 8000 TVs are the most difficult I've had to install; nothing but headaches caused by supposed smart features and design. These TVs are making too many incorrect decisions and the setup menus do not allow the installer proper control of the units. Luckily, most of these issues could be fixed with a firmware upgrade, but who knows if that will ever happen.

Yes, the IR receiver is bottom right. Normally you can easily find the IR sensor by shining a flashlight to reveal the window, but this model was hidden.

New F model Samsungs, the camera is retractable. Too many people worried about remote activation...
