I just installed a playbar in our showroom and I was really disapointed. the play3 next to it sound better. When I pair it with the sub, it finally comes alive and I don't mean just the lower end. It acts like when the sub is not connected it won't output much at all like something is wrong. but when it is connected to the sub it outputs more volume like it opens up more of a limiter. I will be installing 4 of these without subs this week and hope that it is just a bad unit. Did I set it up wrong? It also sounds like the bass is clipping in the speakers. The eq is set on loudness but the bass is dead center eq

Is the LED flashing red? I had one that clipped and was determined to be a bad unit. The Playbar sounds very decent without a sub.

Not sure about the clipping (defective) part but I think it sounds great. I have component video distribution at home so I simply have analog audio feeding it. Sounds average with normal dialog but does well with action and music. It has lot's of "DSP" created low end and I'm very happy with it!

Something definitely wrong with it.  You can call Tech Support and they can run a diagnostic over the phone with it.  My guess is you'll be sending it in for replacement.

The sound is good on the playbars even without the sub.  Is it great?  No.  But you'd never type a post about the poor sound.

Something definitely wrong.

We've installed several of the playbars and they have all been incredible. Did a playbar with sonos sub today and it rocked!

Do you hold the phone up to the speaker and they play a series of touch tones back and forth? ;)
I love supporting product that supports me!
