I working on a system that has a direct TV 21 receiver in it. I'm trying to pass its IR signal thru a Xantech 480 to a Elan IRD4 connecting block. The other equipment remotes pass thru just fine. I get very little flashback from the 480 when using direct TV remote. Any help would be nice.

Thanks in advance.

have you tried new batteries in the remote?

back when we used to to ir repeaters with directv, we had issues with the ir overloading the ir eye on the directv boxes.   we used to move the emitter away from the eye, sometimes all the way around to the side of the box.

is a directv rf remote not an option?  if you are within range of the box, they are a much better solution.

480's are an older technology that did not handle as wide of an IR bandwidth. My guess would be that the DTV remote IR freq is outside of the 480's range. I would be willing to bet a DL85 would solve the problem
