Is there a way to keep the USB port powered on to receive the power on command on newer LG televisions?

this has come up several times (I think here & IP) and I believe that the general conclusion has been no.

Nope. Shades of the original Sharp TV's before Sharp added (Or we found) the command to leave the RS-232 port active when powered off.

IR Emitter for ON. RS-232 for everything else...

Fun times.

Maybe its wired wrong. It should be RS232->USB->LG.

That didn't work either. I'll try R->US->S232->LBG next.
