Sending in my paperwork today. Pretty excited on the product. Can't believe I've waited this long. I got like six requests alone on Friday.

Just put a playbar in my living room and love it. It's making me want a 5 channel Connect (Connect:5 maybe) amplifier or a 3 channel connect to allow me to add my own speakers.

Does anybody know if we are ever going to be able to use the Play 5's as rears for the Playbar?

Good lord, why? I believe there is support coming for a Connect:Amp to be able to power the rears. Some have said it will be a firmware update and others have said it has to be a hardware change. Not sure.

It is hardware. I wouldn't be surprised if the update the chips in the units before cedia

Welcome to sonos! Keep some stock because their shipping and current stock is allover the place.

Im keeping 3 of what i always need in stock right now, first time i have ever needed to "stock" units.

If you are clever with it you can make a TON of money with sonos :)

Without giving away in top secret information, can you elaborate?

Labor + generally you can sell decent mid to high end in wall or ceiling speakers, beacause you certainly won't make any money off of the SONOS itself. Once working on the install you can survey the house and associated equipment - make some suggested upgrades... "Hmmm that spare room would make a GREAT theater room"!

I am not looking to sell Play 5/Playbar packages, lol. I just have a customer that all ready has two Play 5's that face the TV. They will buy the Playbar if they can use the Play 5's for rears.

Move the play 5's to other zones and sell him (2) play 3's as rears. At least, thats what we would try to do. And FYI, we just installed the whole playbar system and it sounds badass.

I was told that the connect amp and play5s are 2.8Ghz models and the playbar is 5.6Ghz so it will have to be a new model.

Does that mean the current Playbar does not strengthen Sonos's wireless mesh network?

I'm finishing up a 9 zone Sonos sytems right now as part of a whole home project so I was curious and took a look numbers:

$  3100 - Qty. 9 Sonos Connect
$  7700 - Qty. 22 Leon Axis AX-V6
$  3000 - Qty. 2 Niles SI-1230 Amps
$  1000 - Qty. 4 Outdoor speakers yet to be determined
$14800 - Hardware Total

$  3200 - Pre-wire for speakers
$    975 - Paint speakers
$  2000 - Installation
$  6175 - Non Hardware Total

If you add it up that's a total of $21k for about $3k worth of Sonos equipment.  On top of this there is also rack space, networking and UPS capacity that could be factored in too.
