I need to replace an old tube TV for a customer and he hates what he sees in LCD TV's and is asking for a plasma. The only plasma I can find that'll fit in his cabinet is a Panasonic TC-P42S60 but not even sure if I they make them as I don't see pricing on Pannys site.
If I can't find a plasma what is the next best solution? Samsung only makes a 40" (6400 series).

Did you get the TC-P42S60? If so, was it hard to find? I just checked Worst Buy and they only have the 720p model. I can't find it anywhere.
Crap, all the mfgs. are focusing on the larger sets. 42's are the stepchildren now!!

Buy the 720P model.

With a 42" display, unless the client is sitting less than one foot from the screen, there's no way to see the difference.

The TC-P42S60 is out of stock, everywhere and they wpn't have a 1080 replacement until after the 1st of the year. If you can get one, do it. I bought a TC-P42X60 because I needed a TV & didn't need a larger one- it's good, but not as good as a 1080p TV. It's $400 at Sears and Best Buy, but distributors can save you a few bucks, literally.

The only thing that's not great is some programming with diagonal lines, but that's not an absolute, either. Mine is good, but for the price, I'm not expecting the best.

Still better than any LCD close to the same price, though. I like black to be black and with this, it is.
