Got a small conference room where we did six honeycomb shades and a PICO with a Main Repeater. Trying to control them from a K3 / XP8 setup. I see codes in the library, but they seem to only do UP, DOWN, Preset1-3.

Is there a command that simply toggles the blinds? Also, is there an all up / all down? Can someone point me to the RS232 command syntax for these shades?

thanks!

You should be able to do a toggle in a button by using a variable test within rti.

When I'm behind a computer I can make you a screen shot if how the macro should read.

You would set scenes inside of the ra2 programming and then simply trigger the scenes. So, after setting an "all up" scene, go to >reports>integration, then go find your scene and its associated number. If the "all up" was assigned the button 4 the 232 code would be >>> #DEVICE,1,4,3 <<<

Yea, I know how to do it using flags, I just found it odd that I could not find the syntax to just do it via a command. Does anyone know where I can find the syntax structure?

A Mojito sure sounds good right now. :)

I would not use processor flags. There should be a true variable test in the Lutron driver for shade state.

I presume RA2?

In RA2 under the programming tab create Phantom buttons in the main repeater.
Create an open/close button.
Set >>Select button type: Shade toggle

RS-232 protocol for Lutron
[Link: resi.lutron.com]

RA2 starts on Pg28.

This is what a press/release phantom button #87 looks like in URC
ASCII. #DEVICE,1,87,3\x0D\x0A#DEVICE,1,87,4\x0D\x0A

Phantom buttons can be any button type!

Are you using the latest Ra2/QS driver (the version with dynamic naming)?

I was able to select open close or toggle shade in the driver

Lutron's command of the English language is tenuous. Shade toggle is not a toggle by definition in any computer language I'm aware. Nor does it meet any definition in the English language. Toggle is out else compliment. Shade toggle in RA2 is a cycle command; direction, stop, other direction, stop. Useful for a RA2 keypad but not for a control system.

There is no stop command outside of the pre-defined shade toggle in RA2. You can define a button as up, down or shade toggle. The only way to stop a moving shade is to pulse the up or down command while it's moving. This works reasonably well if you're controlling a single shade. If you are controlling a group of shades stopping all of them is extremely difficult. Essentially, Lutron is giving you the finger if you want to control shades with RA2. You can do it but only sorta.
