anyone have a ballpark real world range on this bad boy?

4,000 sq foot house. Rack is on lower level. Its basically like a ranch house with a fully finished lower level. house is on a hill. from front of house all you see is one level. head around back and lower level is fully accessible and you can walk right out the sliding glass door onto patio.

Basically i'm looking for wireless coverage to ipads upstairs and downstairs. The ipads will be used as in wall controllers for rti.

i'm hoping one access point will fit the bill but i'm skeptical. this is a retro so less wire I have to fish upstairs for access points the better. feel like i'm asking for a lot out of one access point.

Holy crap.

Wifi is like playing catch with a baseball

An access point is a pro ball players
Devices are a 5 yr old

You can only play catch as far as the 5 yr old can throw and catch
Ed will be known as the Tiger Woods of the integration business, followed closely with the renaming of his company to "Hotties A/V". The tag line will be "We like big racks and tight holes"...

I've had pakedge AP's cover 6,000sq/ft and in another home not quite cover 3,000sq/ft. Such a tricky thing to guess. I hate having to use more than one AP too. I've yet to come across a family that only has devices that like handing off to the strongest AP rather than the last one.

+1
I have a client that has a 10k home and has about a half dozen AP's in it. The original 4 (including a dedicated one for an AMX touchscreen) that the original company installed (out of business) and then three new pakedge units.
two of the pakedge units are within 75 feet of each other on the same floor and if I'm in the kitchen I can't see the office WAP and vice versa.
