What do you guys like for motorized motion mounts? I haven't installed one in probably 4 years if not longer. I believe I used an Omnimount back then, but cannot say for sure. Will be bidding on a job with an ~50" LED that we will put on a motorized mount.

Motorized swing-arm / cantilever or TV lift?

I know I don't like the Sanus VLMF109 which has 12V power. The power supplies burn out really quickly and the motor seems slow / underpowered.

The WallWizard X700CB (I think it used to be branded as a Chief product too) has a sturdier motor, but it doesn't allow for much movement left or right. That sort of defeats the purpose of a motorized mount.

The PSE 180 from Future Automation is STURDY. As in don't try to mount it by yourself. Weighs in at 60 lbs. Full 90-degree movement left or right. Would be nice if it had finer adjustment, though; spent several hours over several days adjusting the limit switches to get "perfect" (as defined by client) right-angles when moved left & right. And it doesn't always pull perfectly parallel to the wall when closing.

FWIW, I'd put motorized mounts in the same category as TVs mounted above fireplaces: great for solving interior design problems, and non-optimal to rely on for actual TV viewing.

Sorry, swing arm. I don't normally use them. As I said its been probably 4 or 5 years since I have. This is for a client who is not physically fit, a bit older, and lost her husband a year ago. She will be watching from both her bed as well as a sitting area. The TV position is too far off to the right to not have it angled towards the bed. Having it angled towards the bed will make it unviewable from the sitting area. With her physical problems, it would be difficult for her to maneuver even a loose arm. Just lifting her arms up is difficult for her.

People of Lava... I know crazy name.

You can get them one at a time via their website etc. (or if you're in a real pinch I can get you one.) If you want to use them regularly, you can get set up with their North American Disty who is located in Canada.

Simple, Inexpensive, and sturdy.
I'm Not an engineer, but I play one on TV.
My handle is Tweety but I have nothing to do with the organization of similar name. I just had a really big head as a child so folks called me tweety bird.

Thanks. I'll take a look.

edit: Looks interesting. So this is a single stud mount? Looking at the design, I believe this could work well. The sitting area would be directly in front of the TV, so it could just sit flat against the wall. It would mostly be set at an angle though to view from the bed. I see it says works with most remotes. Does the unit learn your remotes commands or is it a basic IR remote? I will probably be spec'ing a URC remote in for control. Being able to simply set a custom angle for the bed and back to home position for sitting area would be very easy for the client. I may take you up on helping me get the product for this job. If I like it I will sign up. Being that I haven't done motorized mounts in so long, I want to make sure I see the value in it. If you don't mind sending me pricing in RC Mail, I'd appreciate it.
