Looking at replacing an old 3003 Nutone intercom. Customer wants to view front door via camera. I don't know of any "straight" replacement that will add a camera. The only one I found is a retrofit by Linear, pretty much just updated looks and some other stuff. I'm guessing with the flat ribbon cable nothing can be added directly at the intercom units (camera wise).
The only option I can think of is a separate camera viewed via tv or monitor or maybe i-pad or computer. I don't have any experience yet with ip cameras but this seems like a good place to start. I know some have both an analog output and ip. The thing I don't know is if I can get wiring to the cameras location? Is there such a camera that could be wireless via network and with an ip to analog adapter, get a analog signal to distribute?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.....
