Anyone else get this email this morning?

Releses tomorrow.  Release notes here: [Link: sonos.com]

Highlights are a new favorites, launch any specific station, playlist ect from the main music screen.  Also, they added a URL syntax similar to the k-scape app where you can have your control system launch the app (and hopefully have a return button like kscape).  There is also now a widget for android.

I think it is.  Look at the K-scape app.  They wanted to conrol the user expierence in much the same way as Sonos does.  They have a great app.  Rather than have dealers try to write their own modules, they created a URL scheme that you can use to launch their app from a control app and not only have a button to return to the control app, but also be able to provide commands to the control system for volume up, down, mute.

Depeends on how they implement it.   Could be pretty cool if they did it right, or insignificant if they didn't.  Guess we'll see tomorrow.

They also added an Android widget that allows album art/track feedback and basic control from the home screen....could come in handy for a lot of users.

Also "notifications" for Android devices. Not sure what kind of notifications I would need from the SONOS system. We will see when I get home.

this would be VERY cool if it integrates easily with the main control systems

This stomps on the NuVo wireless party. Yikes they could lose a ton of money. Their edge was integration.

The key to this items success is a "return" button that kicks back to the control system.

My guess is it is a url link to the main page not to specific zone pages. Will work best for systems with one Sonos player but could also work well for Sonos only systems integrated with a control system for security etc. Basically hit the "house audio" button and link to Sonos. Still wont be able to control Aux inputs without a link back feature.

Could help sell higher end processors and app licenses.
