I just had a great idea for a website. "Nigerianize your text". You type in any normal text whether its a letter to your wife or if you are disputing a traffic ticket and simply press the nigerianize button and it spits out wildly comical nigerianized scam-email English!

I always send a nice email back with a "good" quote and this:
"My agent will contact your agent so I can obtain your bank account numbers so my agent can obtain the funds to cover shipping. After shipping amount is paid, product will be sent along with a request for payment."
I can only hope that one day....

I sold a couple of items on Craiglist a couple months ago - got all sorts of Nigerianized texts. Ridiculous!

I got one of these texts when I was selling my iPhone on CL. He offered me $50 more than I was asking, as long as I could ship it to Africa. I told him the deal changed, and that I was now asking $1600 for the phone. To my surprise, he said that was too much. I shot another text back and apologized, saying that I'd be willing to come down to $1599. He eagerly accepted and gave me the shipping instructions:-)

I commented on a CEPro article recently and I could not help myself when I got to the end of it... I did a similar thing, but focused on using marketing Newspeak (look it up if you don't know the reference). This all started when people began referring to our industry as a "space." Then we didn't create designs, but "solutions." Newspeak is described as an impoverishment of language and these terms are exactly that. I just hate it. I wonder if anyone at CEPro caught how obtuse, abstruse and ridiculous this was: I agree this software is wonderful, but there’s a physical layer in the construction space where the markup paradigm is at cross-purposes with the plurality of file editing rubrics.

Hilarious. Was this within a story? A quote from someone? Occasionally I will quote someone saying something ridiculous like this just because it's too good to pass up, but this wasn't my handiwork. I will shortly quote a patent application, however, that refers to "a controller operatively coupled to the controllably conductive device for controlling the controllably conductive device"
