Now suffering through Forrest Gump. Singing not in tune. Video idea pretty spiffy, but wasted on the crap song. All the melisma that most current singers insist on really suffers when the notes are out of tune.

Man can whislte, though. Thankfully, he whistled himself offscreen.

OMiGod, some people applauded and actually STOOD UP!

Jack White was the only one that I would have cared to see, so I didn't tune in.

Hearing a bunch of folks I don't care about do a Marley tribute seemed like a torturous experience. So I put on Marley 's "Kaya" CD instead. That was my tribute to Mr. Marley.

On another note (much more noteworthy than the train wreck that the Grammy's usually are):

It was 50 years ago today (Feb 11, 1963) that the Beatles recorded their first album "Please, Please Me". The whole album took appx 13 hours to record. I think I read that Twist And Shout" was the last song of the session (I may be wrong on that) and John's voice was shot for the day.... and that was a wrap.

So many songs in that session had so much energy and visceral punch, even being 50 years ago. If you have this LP, give it a spin today and you get to hear the lads in their infancy, and know why the world would soon would go gaga over them.

I watched the whole thing

What do you mean the Marley was bad? Sting was there! I love Sting.

Jack White- killed it

Mumford-killed it

Black Keys- killed it

Miranda- at least she is hot ( I thought the duet was terrible)

JT-killed it

Kelly Clarkson-killed it

Elton John- Killed it

Prince- why do you not perform any more?

Katie Perry- Smoking Hot in that dress

Forrest Gump song?- WTF just happened? (it was like a bad Saturday night live skit) I mean, that had to be the worst all time performance ever.

Underwood- super hot

My Jack White stock went way up.

I totally hear you, but I'd rather hear poor intonation than lip syncing anytime. Another thing we can't take for granted is how awfully hard it is to hear yourself in a massive venue and thinly textured passages like that, even with all the tricks and earpieces. I would like to think he was probably up against more challenges than we see on the surface, all things considered.

I understand your comment but I disagree. I don't mind a few pitch issues when someone sings live. I would rather hear somebody sing live than lipsync anyday. But this guy was terrible. I toured for 10 years and never heard anybody do as badly as this guy. He would get laughed out of the clubs we played in. I don't care if your in ears don't work, you can either sing or not. This guy is terrible. Natural singers can overcome issues when monitors don't work and in ears are not working. He could not find the key the song was in. He wouldnt make it past the 1st round in American idol, why was he up for a dang grammy?

It was like he just walked walked up to a keyboard with zero knowledge of how to play said instrument, started pressing buttons, and said the first words that came to mind. He'd obviously just watched the movie in the Green Room.

It was absolutely ridiculous.  I've seen  a ton of bad performances in my day.  This one takes the cake.  It made me want to physically hurt him.

I just watched it on You Tube. It won't be long before someone turns that into a "shreds" video, and it will be better. :)

I'd prefer talent.

I'd prefer that the performers recognize that an awards show is a horrible place to demo a down-tempo, reflective song. Everybody is there for the party, so if you're going to do it, it had better be perfect, and "in tune" is pretty high up on the list of things that make a performance perfect.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
